5 Habits of Highly Effective Sellers

You know the type: they just sold their home quickly, for over asking, and with seemingly no trouble at all. So what’s their secret? (Besides a great real estate agent).

It’s simple: they follow 5  habits that have made them highly effective sellers.

Even in Toronto’s seller’s market, you need to have that extra edge to get the results you want. Here are the habits that can make it happen:

 

1. Knowing What Your Home is Worth
What you want your home to be worth and what it’s actually worth might be two very different things. It’s easy to believe that your first home, full of nostalgia, is worth millions. To avoid disappoint, you have to enter into this process with realistic expectations and an accurate knowledge of the current market. To get started, get an idea of what your home would sell for right here.

 

2. Prepping Your Home in Advance
Want to get a head start on the process? Getting your home in optimal shape–and keeping it that way–can streamline the selling process. When you’ve decided to sell, one of the first things you can do is declutter. It not only makes your home appear bigger and cleaner, it will be less for you to move to your new space when the time comes.

 

3. Upgrading Where It Counts
When a potential buyer sees freshly painted walls, upgraded appliances, and flooring they don’t have to replace, your home will be a much easier sell. Want to really wow them? Invest in some pre-listing renovations in the kitchen and bathroom to raise the value of your home, draw in more buyers, and sell even faster!

 

4. Being Open
Okay, this one’s really important. I know that selling your home can be seriously stressful, and handing over your biggest investment to someone else is a hard thing to do. But to see the best return on your investment–and have a less stressful experience altogether–it’s important to remain open. This applies to every step of the process, from home improvement recommendations to pricing and negotiations. Keep an open mind and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what we can achieve together!

 

5. Finding the Right Agent
How do you really become a highly effective seller?
