Spring In Your Step: Toronto’s 5 Most Walkable Neighbourhoods

Toronto Neighbourhoods

The weather has warmed up, so that means it’s time to explore! Toronto is one of Canada’s most walkable cities, so let’s take a hike this spring and visit some of the city’s best neighbourhoods.

Have you been looking to turn your next spring day into an all-out adventure? Ditch those slippers, put on some runners, and check out my list of Toronto’s 5 most walkable neighbourhoods:

The Annex (Walk Score: 99)

Thanks to its close distance to the University of Toronto, the Annex has the romantic walkability of a university campus. Walking around here will find you strolling down stunning side streets, complete with gorgeous Victorian homes and tree-lined boulevards. It’s easy to get lost when there’s so much to see!

King West (Walk Score: 99)

Want a front row seat to the hustle and bustle of the big city? Head to King West! While you might think it’s only towering condos and clubs down here, there is much more to see. There are restored heritage buildings, amazing brunch options, and even more amazing coffee shops. Immerse yourself in city life and find some fun in the heart of the city.

Queen West (Walk Score: 98)

No list about Toronto’s most walkable neighbourhoods would be complete without Queen West! Chances are you already know that Vogue had this neighbourhood ranked as one of the coolest in the world. Boutiques, bars, restaurants and more make this area endlessly entertaining. Stroll through Grafitti Alley for edgy street art, or meander through Trinity Bellwoods Park for prime people-watching. This is one stunningly cool strip!

Danforth Village (Walk Score: 96)

A little bit of Greektown, and a little bit of the Beaches – Danforth Village is the best of both worlds! The amazing food options and picture-perfect parks make for an amazing day of fun in the sun. After all, what’s not to love about enjoying fresh calamari and then walking along the shores of Lake Ontario?

Leslieville (Walk Score: 94)

One of my favourite parts of neighbourhood walks has to be feeling at home in a community, which is how Leslieville feels all of the time! This area is known for its trendy, family-friendly comfort. Lining Queen Street East are cold-pressed juice bars, parks, and some of the best restaurants. It strikes the perfect balance between mellow and lively, with the promise of adventure around every corner. That’s what exploring the city by foot should be all about!
