What Neighbourhood Should You Buy In?

Buyer

Toronto is an incredibly diverse city–it’s mix of cultures and communities is what makes it such a great place to live! It may take some time, but there’s nothing like finding a neighbourhood here that truly feels like home.

So what neighbourhood best suits you?

For The New Family

Neighbourhood Picks: Leslieville and Riverside-Riverdale

With farmers’ markets, tight-knit communities, and plenty of fantastic parks, neighbourhoods like Leslieville and Riverside-Riverdale are perfect for young families. Take a walk through the area and you’ll see for yourself–this neighbourhood is already full of strollers, fashionable toddlers, and their four-legged friends. The area may have been labelled as ‘rough’ 10 years ago, but the local revitalization and development have brought it to the family-friendly category.

For The First-Time Buyer

Neighbourhood Picks: The Junction and King West

If you’re about to take your first step on the property ladder, then take a look at neighbourhoods such as The Junction and King West. They may be two very different communities, but they both offer some great options for the first-time buyer. Those looking for a modern condo in a more developed downtown area will love King West. Looking for more of a fixer-upper in an up-and-coming area? Head to The Junction; this neighbourhood is becoming increasingly popular with trendy shops and bars, but still has its historic industrial feel.

For The Young Professional

Neighbourhood Picks: King West and Queen West

Want the best of work and play? Head to the West End, where you’ll find a wide variety of condos, art galleries, and some of the city’s best nightlife. While there isn’t an abundance of detached homes to choose from, there are plenty of modern high rise units and industrial lofts with tons of character. Plus, you have ample access to transit, making it easy to get to the office or across the city to explore other fantastic areas.

For the Investor

Neighbourhood Picks: The Junction, Riverside-Riverdale, Danforth Village

Want to get more bang for your buck? Start your home search in neighbourhoods like The Junction, which has gone from up-and-coming to pretty-much-there, or Danforth Village: a quiet community that’s growing in popularity. The Riverside-Riverdale area is also seeing its fair share of development with the revitalization of The Broadview Hotel underway, as well as the Riverside Square condo community.

Still not sure where you fit in? I’d love to help!

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly community or want to be smack dab in the centre of the late-night action, I’ll help you find a home you love. Give me call at 416-997-8060 or shoot me an email at rebecca@onthemoveTo.ca, and let’s chat!
